1 Million Cups is a free, weekly national program designed to educate, engage, and connect entrepreneurs. Developed by the Kauffman Foundation, 1MC is based on the notion that entrepreneurs discover solutions and network over a million cups of coffee.

1 Million Cups meets every Wed. morning at 9am at the Gathering Grounds at Discovery Church in Downtown Yankton.

Noon Forums at Mount Marty College

The Noon Forums for the spring semester at Mount Marty College will begin on Thursday, January 28, with a presentation by Dr. Chun Wu and MMC Students, entitled “BRIN research, past and future.”

Each Thursday on the Yankton campus, presenters will give a talk on a variety of topics.  The events are held over the lunch hour in the South Dining Room of the Roncalli Center and are free and open to the public.  Brown bag lunches are welcome and visitors are also able to purchase food from MMC dining services.

Bloomfield Fish Fry

The Bloomfield Knights of Columbus invite you to their annual Fish Fry on March 4th at the Bloomfield Community Center.  They will serve from 5pm-8pm.  Adults are $10.00 Kids 12 and under are $5.00.  Proceeds go towards various Knights of Columbus projects and the Scholarship Fund.

Teen Advisory Board (TAB) of the Yankton Community Library Meeting

The Teen Advisory Board (TAB) of the Yankton Community Library met on February 1 to finalize plans for their special event on Saturday, February 13, from 2-4 p.m., at the library, 515 Walnut Street.  It’s a cake decorating contest with a book related theme!  Participants are challenged to use cake as the basic building material to create a depiction of a book title, character, or scene.  Cake, frosting, and food coloring are provided by the library.  Teens are invited to bring in sketches, photos, and plans for their design, as well as any special decorative materials they may need.  All students in grades 6 through 12 are invited to join us for this fun event.

 

The next TAB meeting is Monday, March 7, at 7 p.m.  Final plans for Teen Tech Week in March will be discussed, along with plans for the after-hours event during National Library Week in April.  New members for TAB are always welcome.
