Nebraska Farm Bureau Member Encouraged By Trade Remarks
Nebraska Farm Bureau members are just returning from a lobbying trip to Washington to talk about a list of priorities including trade.Jason Kvols is District 3 Director from Laurel.He says they urged members of Congress to ratify the pending Free Trade Agreements and he’s encouraged that may happen after hearing the President talk about them specifically in his address to the Export-Import Bank.
So far the most problematic FTA has been with Korea.Kvols says they met with representatives from South Korea this week and they are anxious to get the trade deal implemented.
Other concerns they shared during their Hill visits included environmental regulations and a climate change bill, the future of the animal ID system and the failed direction of health care reform.
