A new study conducted by researchers at Penn State University confirms that lean beef can be part of a heart healthy diet. Lead researcher Penny Chris-Etherton says the results of the BOLD (Beef in an Optimal Lean Diet)study was published in the January edition of the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition and so they hope the results resonate with dieticians.
She says the study really just confirmed what they knew all along about beef’s heart healthy profile and its impact on lowering cholesterol.
They’re also hopeful that physicians will use this study as a baseline for dietary recommendations for their heart patients.
